Today was by far my most favorite day of the trip. I consider it to be one of the best days of my life actually.
We started our morning by visiting the local farmer’s market. We picked out the most tastiest strawberries known to humanity and had breakfast there (e.g., chocolate and savory crepes, tacos, hot chocolate, cookies). It was really nice to see the vendors selling unique, homemade food.

Afterwards, we got ready to go to Monterey. I didn’t realize that we were going to a beach – I love beaches. The ambiance there is surreal and something I can never forget.
We headed for the 17-Mile Drive to go to Pebble Beach. Our ride was picturesque and beyond words. We saw houses that were uniquely built with different materials, trees that stood strong against the wind and shades of blue water hitting the rocks with force.
I ate the succulent strawberries and listened to good music along the way. There are just some feelings in the world that you cannot explain – this was one of them. It is meant to be felt and shared with people you love the most.
I was enamored by the way the sun touched the water and reflected its rays on sand. We stopped a few times to enjoy the views.
But the highlight was yet to come.
Pebble Beach.
We left our shoes in the car. I grabbed my camera quickly as we set for the beach. The sun was starting to set.
I hurriedly ran along the path to the beach and stopped to look at the view.
It was breathtaking.
My feet sunk into the cold sand, and I felt like I was home.
A laugh suddenly escaped my lips as I felt the wind pull me towards the water. I was not prepared to go inside the water, but I didn’t want to miss the opportunity since I rarely visit beaches.
Luckily there were not that many people there.
I rolled my pants up and marched to my cousin and sister, who were taking photos and running towards the water.
I took a deep breath and wished for time to stop for a second so I could take in everything and make sure I would never forget this moment.
I got some photos by the water, and my cousin took some Polaroid pictures of me.
I felt the sun reflect on my skin and jewelry as I smiled towards the direction of the sun.
Me. Poojah.
