Cali Diaries: Part 1

I was exhausted from traveling the previous day. The frenzy of packing and miscellaneous errands that needed to be taken care of combined with sitting idly in a long flight took a lot of my energy.

We took it easy and just familiarized ourselves with the surroundings on our first official day in California.

I met my cousin’s dog, who is so endearing and gives his love so freely. If there’s anything that I have learned from pets/animals is that they love so freely and unconditionally. They teach you how to love intensely and be loyal.

We bought these egg cheese balls from Starbucks that were so tasty. I’ve never had these at other Starbucks. I believe it had pepper jack as well.

After a nice walk around the neighborhood, we made lunch and had a nice family meal together. Afterwards, I took a wonderful, much needed nap.

We got ready to go out for dinner. I wore this pink Zara dress, but didn’t realize it was a bit cold outside. After all, it is October.

We ate delicious food at Oren’s Hummus. I got hummus with beets and pita. It was really great to be with family after such a long time and many FaceTime calls.

We concluded the evening with some red wine and a Polaroid moment!

I recently invested in a few instant cameras in an effort to experiment with photography and recreate my childhood memories. As a kid, I loved going to the store to get the developed photos and save it in our photo box. With these instant cameras, I hope to make more memories and create my own photo box.

My sister took this Polaroid of me. I love how vintage the photo looks – as if it is from years ago.

Until then!
