Lake Tahoe Diaries: Part 1

We left on a Monday for Lake Tahoe. It was a long drive but worth the views.

We saw mountains, trees and the lake itself. Nature filled every view, making its presence unforgettable.

We had Indian food for lunch before arriving late afternoon to our hotel. After settling in, we decided to stop by the beach to see the sunset. The wind was strong and the water appeared to be extremely cold.

After witnessing the sunset, we had dinner at an Italian restaurant. It was the perfect conclusion to the day.

The next day, we got ready and ate a wonderful breakfast. I got omelette, potatoes, fruits and hot chocolate. It was very apt for trail we went after. I thought it would be extremely cold, but when you walk a lot, you hardly feel it. We enjoyed a nice walk, seeing the lake as well.

When going to Lake Tahoe, I recommend you pack sneakers and some shoes to walk at the beach. The views are phenomenal, and there are plenty of outdoorsy activities to participate in. Another recommendation is to park your car at the stopping points to see the sunset and walk on the various trails.

We went to a shopping area afterwards; I got an ice-cream cookie sandwich from NestlĂ© Toll House CafĂ© that was beyond anything I’ve ever tasted. The chocolate just melts in your mouth, and the combination of the cookie with the ice-cream is scrumptious. We had lunch as well and enjoyed this beets salad.

We walked around the area and got some hiking gear before heading towards the Sand Harbor Beach.

This was the best part of the day: to witness the sunset and walk around the beach.

We stood on rocks as we saw the sun fade away.
