I recently went to St. Lucia, and it was an exquisite place.
The water was so soft, like butter wafting through my fingers. Though cold to enter, it was pleasantly warm once inside. You could see the bottom of the shallow, pure blue waves of the Caribbean Sea, but you would lose sight once you looked further towards the darker, menacing depths of the rich, royal blue water.
The views were ethereal…with tufts of green mountains, ever-flowing waves that ran deep, playfully gusty winds, short-lived rains in the sunshine, beaming rays of the sun, rainbows filled with every color and affable people on the island.
The adventurous me frolicked in the sun and in the colossal water without a lifejacket (there was a lifeguard keeping an eye out for me-God Bless!). I made some friends with the sea creatures lurking below and discovered a half-cracked rose-gold iPhone (in the sea), which was disturbingly funny.
I share with you some of the pictures taken on my last day of the trip.
All photos were taken on the iPhone X and edited with VSCO.
I have to say I am really impressed with the iPhone’s camera, especially the “Portrait Mode” setting. The clarity and quality of these pictures are ridiculously amazing-the camera difference of previous iPhones and this iPhone is quite clear (no pun intended!).
The two objects in every picture that I am most proud of are the necklace and earrings, which were made for me (for my birthday) and gifted by my sister.
Looking at the water below me.
Enjoying my views of the Caribbean Sea on this charming hammock.
Reveling in the sun.
Soaking up some of the sun’s rays.
At my grandparent’s house, they used to have a “Jhula” or swing. The first thing I did every morning in the summer was to run and grab dibs on the “Jhula.” After parking myself on the swing, I would take out my book and read it for hours, enjoying the Bangalore weather as well.
When I found this “Jhula” or swing, I became very ecstatic and ran to it, transforming into that little child. I see myself possessing a “Jhula” in my future home.
Reminiscing my beautiful memories there while glancing over the water.
My “Hakuna Matata” moment. Here, I am worry-free!
Veins running down my arms like snakes.
